Under-18 competition spans three venues

On 16 October, for the first time, the under 18 league will be see matches in three venues, with over 150 boys and girls taking part.

At the Trafford Soccerdome the weekend starts at 10.00 with the new Nottingham girls’ team playing last year’s cup winners NEM Hawks. Nottingham also face Warrington Wolves and Peninsula in a schedule that sees them take on the last three teams to reach the finals at the Copper Box.

Wolves also play another new team, Manchester, who have several players from the county championship team that booked their place in December’s Under-16 County Championships final. Cannock last year’s Super-4 winners play Manchester and Peninsula. Peninsula, who have joined with Deva could be a strong proposition this year.

In the boys competition the two 100% teams Nottingham A and Warrington Wolves play each other. Warrington’s other match is against Peninsula. The final game is a derby clash between Nottingham A and B. NEM Hawks boys don't play this weekend after requesting the weekend off for coaches to take part in a coaching course.

At Cranfield University Carshalton and Oly Cats 2, who both won their opening two matches at Stoke Mandeville, meet in the Boys’ South Group 1. Brighton make their debut in the competition with matches against both sides.

Coventry, who made a perfect start to their campaign with two wins-from-two, take on Ealing in the Girl's South Group 1. Ealing also play Cambridge, who in turn play Essex.

The Bay Hub Gosport hosts the boys’ Southern Group 3. Poole Phoenix, Somerset Spartans, Eastleigh, Stroud and Bristol all take part for the first time this season. Phoenix will start as favourites after competitions last season. Poole play Bristol and Eastleigh. Bristol also play Somerset Spartans, who’s other match sees them take on Stroud. Eastleigh and Stroud meet in the other match.
