Under-18 League: First week round-up

NEM Hawks, Warrington Wolves and Nottingham boys each started their campaigns with three wins in the boy’s Under-18 North Division.

2015/16 Cup winners Hawks scored 66 goals and conceded just seven in victories over new teams Manchester, Olympia Cannock and Nottingham B.

Last season’s losing semi-finalists Warrington edged past Deva, but had more comfortable wins over Nottingham B and Manchester. Wolves’ Nate Green, last year’s player of the year and top scorer carried on where he left of last year with 18 goals in those three matches, to top the scoring charts in the first weekend.

Nottingham’s young team A team continued to impress as they beat Manchester, Deva and Peninsula. Deva, Peninsula and Cannock also picked up a win apiece to keep them in the hunt for qualification.

In the boy’s South Group 1 Carshalton Titans and Oly Cats 2 ended the day with two wins out of two, both beating London Lions and Hackney GD.

In the boy’s South Group 2 Oly Cats 1 and Ealing started with only one game each as Whitmore forfeited their matches. Islington beat Olympia for an early win.

In the girl's South Group 1 Poole Phoenix beat Olympia, London Angels and Islington to get off to a 100% start. Stroud and Somerset both notched up two wins, and drew with Olympia in a tight group.

In the girl's South Group 2 Hackney GD and Coventry Sharks set the pace with two victories from two matches. Ealing and Cambridge claimed a victory each on their debut in the Under-18 League.
