Women’s National Shield continues this weekend with two north-south showdowns.

Teams from all over the country will fight it out this weekend for a place in the Womens' Shield semi-finals.

First up is London Angels II, currently sitting bottom of the Regional League South East Tier 1, without a league win yet this season. They travel to Surrey to play Guildford Sabres at the Charterhouse Club, Guildford. Guildford, who sit in the middle of South East Tier 2, came through in the previous round by beating University of Loughborough II 32-10. Throw off is at 11.30.

The second match on Saturday sees University of Loughborough play Poole Phoenix at Harewood College, starting at 13.00. The students have had a very successful season, winning all their matches comfortably and sitting top of the Regional League Midlands table. Poole are second in Regional League South West with two defeats so far this season.

Sunday’s match will pit Liverpool against Reading Lionesses. Liverpool are top of the Regional League North, unbeaten this season so far, and will fancy their chances against Reading Lionesses when they make the long journey south to the Loddon Valley Leisure Centre. The Lionesses are top of the Regional League South West having won all their league matches so far this term. Throw off is at 13.30.
