London Angels face a tough test this weekend when they host second in the table NEM Hawks.
Elsewhere in the Women’s Premier Handball League, Coventry Sharks travel to Cambridge. Olympia play the West London Eagles in a London double-header which sees both men’s and women’s team face each other over Saturday afternoon at Leyton Score Centre.
Manchester-based Hawks are having a fantastic season and are only three points behind league leaders London GD. Angels, by contrast, are second from bottom of the table with just two wins to their name this season. Victory for Hawks could see them end the weekend level on points with GD, albeit the Londoners having a far superior points difference. Angels will be hoping to spring a surprise on Hawks and put distance between themselves and bottom of the table Peninsula. Throw off is at 13.30 on Sunday at Barking Sporthouse.
In the other match of the weekend, Coventry Sharks face Cambridge. Throw off is at 13.30 on Saturday in Barking Sporthouse. This could be a close game, with sixth-placed Cambridge just one point behind Sharks in fifth. Sharks, however, have a game in hand and will hope to edge closer to the top half of the table. In their previous fixtures, Cambridge beat Peninsula whereas Sharks lost to GD.
