Women's Premier Handball League: Eagles face GD in London derby

NEM Hawks host Cambridge in the Women’s Premier Handball League this weekend.

London Angels begin their campaign with a match against Olympia, while another Capital City derby sees West London Eagles take on London GD.

Hawks will be looking to put an opening-weekend defeat behind them after losing 25-19 to London GD. Promoted Cambridge made a winning return to the Women’s Premier Handball League after a year’s absence, when they beat West London Eagles 24-20. Throw-off on Saturday at Oldham Leisure Centre is at 15.30. It is preceded by the Men’s Premier Handball League match between Hawks and GD, which throws off at 13.30, in a great double bill.

Angels face a tough opener against defending champions Olympia. Olympia top the table on goal difference after making an impressive start to their campaign with a 39-7 win over Reading Lionesses. Throw-off at Barking Sporthouse is at 12.00 on Sunday.

2018-19 National Cup winners West London Eagles will be looking to mark up their first win of the campaign following the defeat against Cambridge. They will face a GD side buoyed by victory against Hawks. Throw-off at Leyton Score Centre on Sunday is at 16.30. The match follows the clash between Eagles and GD in the Men’s Premier Handball League, which throws off 14.00, in another great double-bill of handball.
