Women's Premier Handball League: Eagles hunting top spot

West London Eagles have the chance to go top of the Women’s Premier Handball League if they beat Peninsula this weekend.

NEM Hawks face Coventry Sharks, while London Angels host Cambridge.

Eagles lie two points behind table-toppers London GD, who are not in action. They go into the match in great form, with four straight wins. Promoted Peninsula have lost all their league matches so far this term, but will have been encouraged by their performance against NEM Hawks last time out. Throw-off at Trafford Soccerdome on Sunday is at 16.30.

Hawks returned to winning ways against Peninsula following defeat to Eagles. They know that a win against Coventry, and defeat for Eagles could potentially see them move into second spot on goal difference. Sharks are in fifth spot with eight points, but have played less matches than anyone else this season. A win would move them above Olympia, who are also not playing this weekend, on goal difference. Throw-off at Oldham Leisure Centre on Saturday is at 13.00. It is followed by the Men’s Premier Handball League fixture between Hawks and Nottingham in a great double bill.

Sixth plays seventh when Cambridge make the trip to London Angels on Sunday. Cambridge have won just once this season, and lost their last three. Angels are a point behind the East Anglian side, but have played a match less. Like Cambridge they have just one win to their name so far. Throw-off at Sporthouse Barking is at 15.30.
