Olympia and London GD meet in the Women’s Premier Handball League this weekend, both with an eye on the top-of-the table.
Reading Lionesses play NEM Hawks and London Angels face West London Eagles.
With Cambridge not in action a win for either GD or Olympia would see move to the top of the standings. A draw would see Olympia go top and GD second. Olympia have won their last two matches since a narrow defeat at the hands of Hawks in week three. GD, like Olympia have a record of four victories and one defeat and have claimed victory in their last three matches. Throw-off at Leyton Score Centre is at 12.30 on Sunday. It is followed by the clash between the two sides in the Men’s Premier Handball League at 14.30 in a great double bill.
Bottom side Reading go into the match against Hawks still searching for their first win of the campaign. They suffered a heavy 41-22 defeat to West London Eagles in their last encounter. Hawks won a crucial clash against London Angels last time out, a victory that put distance between them and the bottom two. They will know a win against Reading will see them pull away further from the wrong end of the table. Throw-off at Oldham Leisure Centre is at 15.30 on Sunday. It is preceded by the Men’s Premier Handball League clash between Hawks and Nottingham at 13.30.
Angels have the same record as Reading this season with five defeats and one draw – the draw coming against Reading. They sit above the Berkshire side on goal difference. Eagles have secured maximum points in their last two matches and will be bidding to put a winning run together. Throw-off at Barking Sporthouse is at 12.00 on Sunday. It precedes the game between Eagles and Carshalton Titans in the Men’s Premier League which gets underway at 15.00.
