Women's Premier Handball League: GD beat Olympia to top standings

Olympia beat London GD to top of the Women’s Premier Handball League.

West London Eagles won against London Angels, while Reading Lionesses forfeited their match against NEM Hawks.

Olympia came out on top 22-17, after leading 9-6 at half time, in the Capital City derby in which both teams were eyeing the summit of the table. Marija Stricevic and Alsima Sorodoc led the scoring charts for Olympia with five goals apiece. Juste Brazenaite top scored for GD with four goals. Olympia head the standings on 16 points. GD are second in the table, two points behind, ahead of Cambridge and West London Eagles in a congested top four.

Eagles beat second-bottom side Angels 38-17, building on a 16-7 lead at the break. Hawks were awarded a 10-0 win against Reading Lionesses after the Berkshire side forfeited the match.

Reading remain bottom, while Hawks are fifth, but just two points behind the top four, and five points clear of the bottom two.
