Women's Premier handball League: GD eye top spot

Second-place London GD travel to Cambridge in the Women’s Premier Handball League, while West London Eagles host NEM Hawks.

GD go into the game knowing that, with leaders Olympia not in action, victory would take them top of the table. However, defeat for GD would dent their title hopes, as Olympia would only need a draw from their final two games to be crowned champions. They face a Cambridge side in third spot who returned to winning ways against London Angels, after defeat at the hands of NEM Hawks. Throw-off at Moulton College on Saturday is at 16.30. The game is preceded by the Men’s Premier Handball League match between the two sides at 14.30 in a great double bill.

West London Eagles and Hawks meet at Leyton Score Centre on Saturday. The two teams have near identical records with three wins and five defeats and a goal difference of two. Hawks have scored slightly more goals with 205 to Eagles 197. Hawks go into the game after pushing Olympia hard in their last encounter, losing by a solitary goal. Eagles, meanwhile, have lost their last three, a run they will be looking to turn around. Throw-off is at 16.30. Ahead of the match Hawks and Eagles meet in the Men’s Premier Handball League at 14.30 in another great double header.
