NEM Hawks secured their first win of the campaign in the Women’s Premier Handball League, beating London GD 28-26.
Hawks fought back from a first half 15-11 deficit to take maximum points. Athalia Ibanga scored six goals for Hawks, while Francesca Landt, Lydia Edgar and Becky Barnes all weighed in with five strikes. Maria Teresa Perez Laguna beat the keeper six times for GD, and Francesca Graham and Tania Corti both found the back of the net five times.
Hawks remain bottom of the table, but are just a point behind fourth-placed GD, with a game in hand.
