Women's Premier Handball League: Hawks beat Sharks to soar to second

NEM Hawks beat Coventry Sharks 27-22 in a Women’s Premier Handball League schedule that was hit by the weather.

The matches between Peninsula and West London Eagles, and London Angels and Cambridge did not go ahead because of the traveling conditions caused by the Arctic blast.

Hawks trailed Sharks by two goals at half time in their match at, with the teams going in at 10-12 at the break. However, the North-west side showed great spirit and turned things around in the second t half take maximum points.

The result sees Hawks move onto 17 points leapfrogging West London Eagles into second, and a point behind leaders London GD, although they’ve played a match more than both teams. Coventry are in fifth with nine pints frm five matches.
