Women's Premier Handball League: Hawks go second with Olympia win

NEM Hawks beat leaders Olympia 26-25 in a thriller to climb to second in the Women’s Premier Handball League.

The first half finished all square with the scores at 15-15. Hawks edged the second period to take maximum points. Sarah Carrick scored an impressive eight goals for Hawks, while Athalia Ibanga weighed in with seven strikes. However, it was Olympia’s Anastasia Petrovska who headed the scoring charts in the match, beating the keeper 10 times.

Hawks have 17 points from their eight matches, while Olympia sit on 18 points, in a tight league where just four points separate top from bottom.
