Women's Premier Handball League: Hawks take on Angels

NEM Hawks travel to London Angels on Sunday in the Women’s Premier Handball League this weekend.

Cambridge host Olympia, and Reading Lionesses travel to West London Eagles.

Hawks, in fifth spot, have struggled so far this season with one win from four matches. Angels, who lie in sixth, have also found things tough going and are still looking for their first win of the campaign. Only goal difference separates them from bottom side Reading Lionesses. Throw-off at Barking Sporthouse is at 12.00 on Sunday. It is followed by Hawks clash with Carshalton Titans in the Men’s Premier Handball League in a great double bill.

Cambridge lost their 100% record in their last match when they were beaten 20-19 by London GD in a thriller. GD moved top of the table but Cambridge know they will return to the summit this weekend with GD not in action, but will want to do so in style with victory. Olympia, in third, will know a win by 21 goals or more would lift them into second spot. Their one defeat this term came at the hands of Hawks in the third round of matches. Throw-off at Barking Sporthouse is at 15.00 on Saturday. It is preceded by the Men’s Premier Handball League match between the two sides at 13.00 in another great double-header.

Bottom side Reading Lionesses travel to Leyton Score Centre to take on Eagles. Reading suffered heavy defeats in their first two games of the campaign. Since then they went close against Cambridge, and drew with Angels. They’ll be hoping to go a step further against an Eagles side that has struggled for consistency with two wins and two defeats – a return that sees them in fourth place. Throw-off on Sunday is at 16.30. Before that match Eagles play Nottingham in the Men’s Premier Handball League at 14.30.
