Women's Premier Handball League: Hawks welcome London GD

Current league leaders NEM Hawks take on last year’s league champions London GD in a packed second round of fixtures in the Women’s Premier Handball League.

In the other matches, Olympia play West London Eagles, Loughborough University take on London Angels, and Reading Lionesses face Peninsula.

Hawks go into the game on the back of a convincing 40-13 win over Eagles two weeks ago. GD, who won the league and cup double last season, drew against Olympia so are searching for their first win of the season. The teams will meet on Sunday at Oldham Leisure Centre. Throw-off is at 13.30.

Elsewhere in the Women’s Premier Handball League, Olympia play West London Eagles in what is a Capital-City double-header. Both the women’s team and their male counterparts will face off at Leyton Score Centre on Saturday afternoon. The women will throw-off at 14.30, followed by the men at 16.30 in a bumper afternoon of handball.

The second match on Saturday will pit league debutants Loughborough University against London Angels. Angels, who beat Reading Lionesses in the opening weekend, will travel to Derby Arena for a 16.30 throw-off.

Lionesses will welcome Peninsula to Berkshire for Sunday’s match. Promoted Lionesses go into the game looking to secure their inaugural Premier Handball League win against a Peninsula side that finished last season well. Throw-off is at 13.00 at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre.
