Cambridge returned to the top of the Women’s Premier Handball League despite losing to Olympia.
NEM Hawks beat London Angels, and West London Eagles won against Reading Lionesses.
Olympia ran out 32-19 victors against Cambridge, condemning the East Anglian side to their second-straight defeat. Olympia’s Ingrid Liv Morkken was the game’s top scorer with seven goals, while Grete Morkvenaite beat the keeper six times for Cambridge. Olympia move above GD on goals difference into second spot.
NEM Hawks won 30-20 against London Angels to put space between them and the bottom two of Angels and Reading. Hawks held a narrow 9-7 lead at the break. However, they pulled away in the second half. Gabrielle Howarth of Hawks was the games top scorer with nine strikes. Aniko Pinter beat the keeper six times for Angels.
West London Eagles were comfortable 41-22 winners against Lionesses. Sunniva Ovstebo Naess scored an impressive 11 goals for Eagles, while Erika Recksa and Zoe Lacour both found the target eight times. Karolina Bauksaite shone for Lionesses with 10 goals. Eagles are fourth And Reading bottom.
