Women's Premier Handball League: Leaders Olympia face Lionesses

Top plays bottom in the Women’s Premier Handball League when Olympia travel to Reading Lionesses this weekend.

NEM Hawks host London GD and West London Eagles face Cambridge.

Olympia went clear at the top on 16 points after beating second-place GD. The victory was the London sides' third in a row. They will be looking to keep that run going with just two points separating the top four sides. Reading are still searching for their first win this season, but are just one point behind sixth-place London Angels. Throw-off at The Edge in Haslemere is at 12.00 on Sunday.

West London Eagles and Cambridge meet in another big clash. Both sides have 14 points, goal difference separating Eagles in third, and Cambridge in fourth. GD in second also have 14 points. Victory is crucial for both teams as they look to stay in touch with the top of the table. Cambridge have lost their last two matches after opening the campaign with four straight wins – and will be looking to return to their early-season form. Eagles have won their last three matches and will be aiming to extend that run. Throw-off at Barking Sporthouse on Saturday is at 13.00. It is followed by the Men’s Premier Handball League match between Eagles and Cambridge at 15.00 in another great double-header.

Second-place GD travel to Oldham Leisure Centre on Saturday. A win for GD and a defeat for Olympia would see GD draw level on points with their Capital-City rivals. GD lost to Olympia in their last clash, a reverse that ended a three-match winning run. They will be looking to put that defeat behind them. However, they face a Hawks side who’ve lost just one of their last four encounters, and who are looking upwards at the top places. Throw-off is at 13.30. Following the match the two sides meet at 15.30 in the Men’s Premier Handball League in a other festival of handball.
