women's Premier Handball League: north versus south

It’s a battle of north and south in the women’s Premier Handball League this weekend as Olympia travel north to play Peninsula.

The Wirral-based team have two matches in hand over most of the rest of the league, with the Londoners also having a match in hand.

Peninsula have one win and a draw from four matches. In the last round they went down to West London Eagles by nine goals. Olympia have yet to lose a match, with two draws and three wins from the league so far. In the last round of matches they bested Reading Lionesses by six goals.

Victory for Peninsula will see them rise one place in the table, overtaking Reading Lionesses. Whether the Londoners win, lose or draw they will also go up one place into second, above NEM Hawks and behind London GD.

The teams throw off at 13.30 on Saturday in Powerleague Trafford. Olympia’s men’s team is also in action, playing Cambridge in Leyton Score Centre.
