Women's Premier Handball League: north-west derby as Hawks play Peninsula

In the women’s Premier Handball League, two of the top women’s teams in the North West will go head-to-head when Peninsula take on NEM Hawks.

Peninsula are seventh in the table, with one win and one draw after ten matches. Hawks are three places above them in the table, with five wins and two draws from nine matches. Victory for Hawks will move them up to third, just behind London GD on goal difference. If Peninsula win, they leapfrog Reading Lionesses into sixth place.

Throw-off is at 13.30 at Oldham Leisure Centre on Saturday.

West London Eagles will host University of Loughborough. In their first season in the Premier Handball League, the students have just one win to their names. In the previous round of matches, Eagles defeated Reading Lionesses and Loughborough went down to London GD.

Throw-off is at 13.00 on Saturday at Barking Sporthouse.

The final match of the weekend pits London Angels against league leaders Olympia, the only team unbeaten in either the men’s or the women’s top tiers. Olympia will hope to add to their unbeaten run; but the last times these two teams met in the league, in October, it was a narrow three-goal win to Olympia.

Throw-off in this London derby is at 13.30 in Barking Sport Centre on Sunday.
