Women's Premier Handball League: Olympia and GD off to Winning Starts
London GD and Olympia got off to winning starts the new Women’s Premier Handball League campaign got underway.
GD beat West London Eagles 28-20, and Olympia won 28-22 against Cambridge Angels.
Olympia edged the first half of their match against Angels 13-10. The second half was equally close as Olympia ran out victors. Denisa Le Mon top scored for the home side with nine goals. Her tally was equalled by Cambridge’s Grete Morkvenaite.
Nine goals from Fanny Royer helped GD, who led 15-11 at half time, to victory over West London Eagles. Erica Recsa beat the keeper five times for Eagles, while Hiu Kwun Leung weighed in with four strikes.
