Women's Premier Handball League: Olympia and Hawks do battle.

Olympia versus NEM Hawks could be a fascinating match-up for the weekend in round five of fixtures in the women’s Premier Handball League. London GD play West London Eagles, and University of Loughborough play Reading Lionesses in a battle of the new teams in Premier Handball League. Peninsula and London Angels sit this weekend out.

Olympia versus Hawks sit fourth and third in the league, level on points. Hawks have a superior goal difference. In their last matches, Hawks beat Peninsula and Olympia defeated London Angels, so both teams will be full of confidence.

Throw-off in this match is at 13.30 in Barking Sporthouse, just prior to the men’s match.

Table-toppers London GD face West London Eagles in a London double-header. GD are narrowly tracked by London Angels who are just a point behind them, with a similar goal difference. Angels sit this weekend out, so this is an opportunity for GD to cement their position at the top if they beat Eagles.

Eagles come into this match with two consecutive wins under their belt and will be looking for a hat-trick of victories. Throw-off will be at 14.30 on Sunday in Leyton Score Centre, and will be followed by the men’s fixture at 16.30.

Finally, University of Loughborough face Reading Lionesses. This is the first season in the Premier Handball League for both clubs, and this match will see one of the teams record their first win.

Throw-off will be at 15.00 on Sunday in the Sir David Wallace Sports Centre, on the Loughborough campus.

Barring forfeiture, GD will retain top spot after this weekend. But the rest of the league are in hot pursuit.
