Defending champions London GD play London Angels knowing that they will go top of Women’s Super-7 if they win.
GD lie two points behind Olympia with a match in hand. They are in good form with four wins and one draw from their last five matches. Angels on the other hand have won just once this term, although they will go into the match boosted by their draw against Olympia last-time out. A victory or draw for Angels will take them into sixth place. Throw-off at Leyton Score Centre on Saturday is at 12.30 and is followed by the men’s Super-8 match between GD and Nottingham at 14.30.
The weekend’s other match pitches Cambridge against third-place Coventry Sharks at Sporthouse. Cambridge lost to Hawks in a crucial bottom of the table clash in their last match, and have not won in five matches. However, victory for Cambridge would lift them above Hawks on goal difference. Sharks are unbeaten in three matches and could move within a point of GD if they win and the London side lose. In a great double bill Cambridge play Sharks in men’s Super-8 at 15.30.
