Women's Super-7: Trio eye top spot

Cambridge, West London Eagles and London GD could all go top of Women’s Super-7 this weekend.

Cambridge lie in second spot, a point behind Olympia who are not in action this weekend, although they’ve played a match more than the London side. They travel to Aldersley Village to take on Coventry Sharks fresh from a first win of the campaign against NEM Hawks. A win or a draw would see Cambridge leapfrog Olympia. Sharks, meanwhile, have one win and one defeat to their name. Throw-off on Saturday is at 13.30 and is preceded by the men’s Super-8 match between the two teams at 11.30.

West-London Eagles also have a record of one win and one defeat so far this season. They host a Hawks side who lost their opener against Cambridge last week. Eagles know a win, combined with a defeat for Cambridge, would take them top of the pile. Throw-off on Saturday at Sporthouse is at 15.00 and is part of a great double bill with the two clubs men’s teams playing in Super-8 at 15.00.

GD meet London Angels in a Capital City derby on Sunday. They’ve won their only match they’ve played so far this season, against Cambridge. Victory for GD by more than three goals, combined with a defeat for Cambridge, and a draw or defeat for the Eagles, would see them head the standings. Throw-off at Sporthouse is at 14.30.
