London GD II and Medway Falcons joined Manchester in the semi-final of the England Handball Womens’ National Shield.
GDII beat University of Bath 30-20. The Capital-city side held a three-goal advantage at the break, extending their lead in the second half. GD’s Francesca Graham top scored in the match with eight goals.
Falcons dominated the first half of their match against Sabres, leading 21-8 at half time. The second period was a more even affair as it finished 36-23 to Falcons. Naomi Bell scored 13 goals for Medway, while Owona Mashanda beat the keeper 11 times. Stefania Tzourmana led the scoring charts for Sabres with nine goals.
Manchester received a bye into the quarter-finals.
