Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Women’s North Regional League with a thrilling win against University of Leeds.
Visitors Liverpool secured three points after running out victors by 25-24. The victory sees Liverpool strengthen their lead at the top of the table to four points with a record of four wins and one defeat.
Top goal scorers for Liverpool were Babett Nagy with 10 strikes, and Marta Tubacka who beat the keeper five times. Andrea Ghiuzan headed the scoring charts for Leeds, finding the back of the net 10 times in what was another great advert for women’s handball.
The other match in the league saw Newcastle Vikings move into second spot, thanks to a 17-14 success at Manchester.
